As a world-class photographer residing in El Chalten, my ability to guide clients to unique photography sites in the surrounding landscape is second to none. I have hiked in the park hundreds of times, and can assure clients that my workshops offer the opportunity to photograph the park from places unknown by other photographers. However, making great images is about much more than just knowledge of where to find unique vantage points. That is where my understanding of the art and techniques of photography come into play. To create great images, one must understand:

 

-How to use their camera's manual settings.

-How to use light to their advantage.

-How to compose a photo.

-How to edit.

These are skills which I have spent 15 years of my life learning, refining, and teaching. If you are interested in learning these skills, join me for a photography workshop! NIGHT SKY PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

 

In this workshop, we will  start hiking 2 hours before sunset and hike approximately 1 hour to get to a destination where we can set up our cameras, and I can walk people through the basic points of how to photograph at night. I will also focus on teaching the basics of composition, and how to operate a camera in manual mode. A perfect course for those just getting into photography, or who are on a tighter schedule. OVERNIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

​

The perfect mini photography workshop. In this workshop, we will start hiking 4 hours before sunset. This will provide us with enough time to set up camp and scout locations to photograph. I will show students some of my favorite areas to photograph in the park. The overnight workshop, being longer than the night sky workshop, allows students enough time to learn basic photography concepts in more depth (composition, camera settings, scouting, etc). It also allows me to spend more one on one time with each student. Students will have the opportunity to photograph sunset, the night sky, and sunrise. After photographing sunrise and packing up camp, we will hike back to El Chalten.

CUSTOM PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

Looking for private one on one instruction? On a travel schedule which doesn't mesh with my other offered workshops? Wanting to do something longer than my overnight photography workshop? Consider booking a private, customizable workshop with me. This allows you, the student, to decide where we go, when we go, and how long we go for. I generally advise students show me some of their work before beginning the workshop so I can instruct them in a way specific to their skill level.

FALL COLOR 8 DAY PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

​

For photographers looking for the ultimate El Chalten photography experience. My fall color workshops take place during the month of April. This allows students to photograph Chalten during peak fall colors. Over the course of the 8 day workshop, we will be photographing in numerous locations around Chalten, with an emphasis on photographing lesser known locations. This workshop is hiking intensive and I recommend students be prepared to hike up to 3 hours with a pack. In total, 4-6 of the 8 nights will be spent sleeping in a tent: This increases students' chances of making an image when great light strikes. It also gives me sufficient time to provide in-depth instruction on my photographic process, and to work with each student individually. Students will learn a wide range of photography techniques in the field, and rest days will be spent in my gallery doing image reviews and learning the basics of how I edit my images. Price of tour includes meals, lodging, a certified mountain guide who will accompany us while in the park, a national park pass, and transportation to and from the El Calafate airport. Does not include airfare to Calafate. Maximum group size of 6.
